September 22nd, 2014

The boys were goofing around and would not eat dinner. Nick finally said sternly "Boys! Eat!" Camden turned toward Nick with a grin and said "Hi Dad, how are ya?"

We were all in the kitchen and Kellan went to the bathroom. All of the sudden he yells at the top of his lungs "AND THE HOLY SPIRIT!" I don't even want to know...

On Friday, school handed out lollipops. The boys were eating them on the way home. Camden looked at Kellan and said "you know, if you bite your lollipop you will turn into a dinosaur for 5 weeks." Kellan looked thrilled and excitedly took a big crunchy bite. Then he looked down at his hands and body and gave the most disappointed frown to Camden.

September 19th, 2014 3

The boys know better than to drive their cars on the wall. I caught Camden trying to sneakily do so and gave him the "look". So not helping my anxiety at all, he said "when I'm big and you're in Heaven I can drive my cars on the wall."

I keep asking Camden the names of his friends at school so we can invite them to his birthday party. He just looks at me blankly even though they all yell "Hi Camden!" when he gets to school. Finally I said, we're not going to have a party until you can tell me one friend's name. He thought for a moment and said "Corn-Nick-Nick." Oh you may have won the battle, son....

I can't remember where we were, but it was someplace where we could hear our voices echo. Camden was in awe! He said "Mom! I can see my voice!"

Camden: "Mom, when you're mad at me you're funny."

We've stopped putting overnight diapers on Kellan, and he's been doing pretty good. He'll go to the bathroom by himself and leave the toilet seat up and the light on- but hey- he's going. One night he had an accident, so I sat down to ask him why he didn't get up to go potty. He looked at me earnestly and said "the bugs in my bed won't let me go potty!"

As if there were doubt Camden was my son, he's anxiously and painstakingly counting down the days 'til his birthday...

I have no idea where they got this, but as we were on our way to school, both boys asked for dinosaur coffee...

I was doing laundry and just so happened to be putting my Lions jersey away. Kellan asked me if I was "going to the football."

Nick: We need to hurry this morning. Daddy has a meeting at the hospital where you were born.
Camden" Are you going there to say thank you?

Kellan came running in the room and breathlessly yelled "Mom! We don't want to chew spiders, right?" I picked the wrong time to stop sniffing glue...

We told the boys if they kept having accidents overnight, they couldn't watch the iPaT (iPad) anymore. Both got up about 22 times to pee in the potty. Oh and of course, made sure we were up too.

On Saturday the boys were playing cars by my feet. Camden stopped and rubbed my foot for a second. I said "that's so nice of you, Camden!" A few seconds later he said, "Mom, can I stop rubbing and go play now?" Poor guy! I thought he would stop when he wanted to!

It's funny how much Kellan watches out for Camden. Camden was throwing a fit because we were in the living room and he had to go potty. He didn't want to go by himself. I'm trying to show him there's nothing to be afraid of, so I told him (gently) he needed to go by himself to prove there's nothing scary. Well, he kept throwing a fit. Finally Kellan got up, pumped those little arms as fast as he could, and took Camden to the bathroom.

I wasn't paying attention (go figure) and there was an infomercial on TV. The boys had been playing cars in the living room, then Camden yelled "I want that!" Future QVC subscriber...

I was just leaving work and Nick's way of asking me to pick up junk food was by sending me a video of the boys asking for it. Camden rattled off what he wanted from McDonald's. Kellan then proceeded to ask for a "ha" dog. I didn't know McDonald's sold ha dogs let alone hot dogs!

I accidentally scratched Kellan with my ring when I was getting him dressed and Camden announced I had scratched him too. Funny I got him dressed 20 minutes before and he didn't say a word.

Kellan was at work with Grammy. He saw Fr. Reggie and asked him if he was Jesus.

I was in the kitchen and asked Camden to hand me something. He replied "it would be my honor." What?!

OK, so this is funny to me because I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old. I was in the bathroom while Camden was going #2. I heard a big splash and he jumped a mile and started cracking up. I think that was his first experience with water back splash from poo. Did I just lose all of my millions of followers?

Walking with the boys to get the mail, Kellan pointed at a tree and said "that's a cactus!". I told Kellan he had a vivid imagination. Camden yelled "that's not a cactus, it's a tree! Here we go again!" All with a big sigh, of course.

I picked Kellan up from school and we almost made it out the door without an incident. We had said our goodbyes and thank yous. Then Kellan pointed at a toy train and said "look at the train's butt- ew!" I grabbed this kid by his mosquito bitten arm and hightailed it out of there.

Prayers for Camden, please. He has to have beedee beedee surgery next Friday the 26th.

We told Camden he was going to the doctor Friday to fix his beedee beedee. When he woke up this morning he was in such a good mood. He thought he was going to the doctor today. When we told him it was next Friday he sobbed. I think he and I are the only ones on Earth that like to go to the doctor...

The other day I wore a ring I rarely wear. Camden asked me where I got my new ring. Can a 4 year old be much more observant than adults?!

I was taking the boys home and there was stop and go traffic. I had to stop suddenly at one point. I asked the boys if they were OK. Camden replied "Mom, you hurt my head, stomach and chest, but I still love you."

About 4 times one day I was getting the boys in and out of the car. I buckled Kellan than got right into the drivers seat. A little Camden voice from the back said each time "Mommy, I'm not buckled." I sheepishly got out and buckled him. After the 4th time, he said, "aren't you glad I can talk, Mom?" Yes I am Camden...yes I am...

I was late getting out of work and I was supposed to pick up dinner. Nick called and put Kellan on the phone. Nick was trying to get Kellan to say "I'm hungry, where are you?" Little Kellan took it literally and kept saying he was in the toy room! He couldn't understand why we kept asking "where are you?"

Camden announced that he wanted to go down a water slide. But one he could go down safely. That's my kid...

Camden was at work with me the other week. I had him all set up at my desk with Cheez-it's and the iPad. I pulled up Candy Crush on my computer for a millisecond and he yelled to the whole office "Mom? Are you playing Candy Crush?!"

Nick went to pick up Camden from school and Camden was sitting in a chair facing the door so he could see the minute Dad got there - with two blankets and a box of Kleenex in front of him. Once again, poor kid is definitely my kid...

We were in the truck taking Kellan to Grammy and Granfy's house. Kellan yelled "DAD DAD DAD DAD DAD!" Nick finally got a chance to ask what. Kellan replied "I love this song!".
