What an amazing Christmas! We are so blessed!
The boys had nothing but huge grins and belly laughs. It's so awesome as a mother to watch the joy of Christmas through your child's eyes. Plus, they both kept indicating that it's not about the presents, it's about Jesus's birthday. I am so proud of my guys!
Last night watching the Lions/Cowboys game, Camden, of course, was cheering for the Cowboys. Grrrr... I gave him more than a Mom look, but more of a poor sport look. He blinked his looooong eyelashes at me, grinned, and said, "Well, you have to admire it."
At the restaurant, our waitress was a very cute young girl. The boys politely ordered their own dinner, and I was so proud. When the waitress walked off, Camden nudged me and said, "She looks really young". Wait a minute there my little 7 year old!...
I was complaining about my hair, and Kellan immediately said, "Mom! You're Utiful!". Then Camden chimed in, "You sure look pretty if I may say so". Aaand that's why I keep them. BEAM!
I was looking online and saw that George Michael died. I said, "Oh no!". The boys came running over to see who that was. I showed them a picture and Kellan's blue eyes got as wide as they could and he said, "I know him!" Camden and I looked at each other then back at Kellan to see where this was going to go. Kellan earnestly and I'll be honest with you, convincingly, said, George Michael came to my school on November 3rd. Kellan was allowed to ask him 3 'queskins' then George Michael died on November 4th. Camden and I pondered this because he was so convincing, then I said, "But Kellan, George Michael died on December 25th". He did his famous face palm and said, "that's what I meant"...
Honestly, straight out of my youngest child's mouth - 'This is the best Christmas Eve ever! Will you marry me, Mom?!" Hashbrown SOBLESSED!

Kellan calls touchdowns "touch the grounds"...Sigh...
Saint Nick came to visit the kids at school. Kellan was telling me the story of Saint Nick and happened to mention that Saint Nick's parents died because they got bit by a jaguar. I don't really have the time to Google if that's true...
Kellan was being his usual nutty self and made Camden mad. Camden crossed his arms, scowled, looked at Kellan and said, "You're lucky you're cute kid"...
Once again, I know I say this quite often, but I would give anything to be in Kellan's head. I should put a video camera in the car and just record what comes out of his mouth while in the car. This is what happened the last time I picked him up from school. "Mammals are warm blooded. You're a mammal, Mom. You're hot. Like the sun. The Son of God". I can't...
The boys are so cute and proud of themselves for knowing what AM and PM means. Kellan looked at the clock in the car and said, "Wow! AM went by really fast today!"...
There is a Panda Express opening right by our home. Kellan seems to think he knows exactly when it's going to open. We drove by the other day and I said, "Look, Kellan! Panda Express has now open signs up!" Kellan responded, "Mom, I told you Panda Expression was going to open today"...
I had just got through asking Camden to please not yell through the house for me. If he needs something, he needs to come find me. We have had this conversation several times. I heard, faintly at first, "Don't yell through the house. Don't yell through the house". The sound got closer and closer. Then I realized Camden was limping toward me. He had bumped his leg on the table and was bleeding a little. I went running to him immediately and got him a band-aid and cleaned him up. Of all times, now he remembers how I ask him to not yell through the house. Poor sweet guy! Obviously it wasn't a huge injury but my heart just melted that he respects me enough to do the right thing no matter what. I love this Monkey!
Kellan was having, let's say, a little trouble concentrating on Mass. When the priest was blessing the bread, I whispered to Kellan, "Look! That's the body of Jesus! He died for our sins". Kellan looked at the bread, looked back at me, rubbed his stomach and said, "Yuuuuummmmmm!" Oh dear God, you made this kid, please forgive him!...
While moving and unpacking, I came across a genuine treasure! I found a tape of a recording I made at Cedar Point. That was one of my most favorite things as a child. Going to Cedar Point and getting to be a recording artist. I played it for the boys and was trying to explain how I got to do this. For some reason, they have in their heads that I was up on a stage singing in front of millions of people. I'm not going to lie. While I did not confirm this, I did not do anything to squelch these rumors. Both boys were pondering for a minute and then Kellan piped up and asked, "Was Donald Trunk there when you were singing?"...
Kellan announced, "There's a kid in my class named Nathan, but his name doesn't start with Uncle"...
Camden is going to start playing flag football in January. He (and I) are ecstatic. While Camden was going on and on about this, Kellan asked me if there was a flag football NASCAR team...
I was exhausted after work, and the boys were running me ragged. I had just finally sat down and Camden asked for Apple Juice. I sighed and said, "Can you please just give me one minute?" Camden replied, "Ok, Mom. But I'm starving of thirst". Guess who bounced right up to get her son Apple Juice.

Yay December! I love Christmas!
Camden said he was going to make a silly face during class picture day. I got so excited and said, "Yes! Do it!" Camden looked shocked and said, "but Mom! I'll get a red light for that!" Darn kid that follows the rules...
In the car we were talking about the boys' dimples. We were laughing that Kellan has two, Camden has one and Mom has none. Camden was being goofy and said, "What does a dimple look like?" Kellan without pausing, immediately said, "It looks like bacon. I mean salami". What?....
I would love to be in Kellan's head. We were talking and rhyming on the way to school. Candy became a subject and Kellan suddenly turned pouty and became angry. I asked him what was wrong and he replied, "I wish you would have named me Jolly Rancher!"...
Camden loves looking at our calendar and knowing the events coming up. He insists on keeping up with the school calendar as well. He was very proud to let me know they had community prayer this week. On the way home from school I asked how community prayer was. Camden said good. Kellan said, "huh"? Camden got so mad. "We had community prayer today, Kellan!". Kellan thought and responded, "Oh. Our class didn't go to that". Camden almost lost it and yelled, "Kellan! You were sitting right in front of me!" Kellan looked completely baffled and said, "Today? Are you sure it was me?". I quickly changed the subject before Camden imploded...
Camden came running in my room cracking up. It took him about 18 minutes to compose himself enough to blurt out, "Kellan thinks our school is called Annunciation Traffic School!"...
Kellan announced at the dinner table, "I sure do sneeze and tootie frootie a lot!" That's my boy!
Kellan strutted by me and announced, "Hey Mom. I'm going to go play tic tac toe with my brother by myself"...
The boys were in the backseat and all of the sudden things went quiet. Of course I turned around to see what was going on. Camden gave me the cutest most innocent monkey grin, and said, "What Mom? My brother and I were just having a conversation!"...
We saw some birds on the way to school and Camden said, "Oh look! Ravens! Why hello, Baltimore Ravens!" I love my football kid.
I was trying to explain the democratic and republican parties to the boys. I thought they were finally understanding a little when Kellan asked, "Can I go to the party? What kind of cake will they have?"...
