Kellan was telling us how he was playing with Reid at school the other day. Camden gasped and said, "there's a Reid in my class too!". There was a short period of silence then they both said, "I guess there are two Reids"...

I don't think it's any secret that Kellan loves his 'iPat'. He was showing me some of the funny things Pink Panther was doing. Then he laughed and said, "Look how he looks at me at the end!". Then his face got really scared and he asked me, "but he can't really see me, right?!".

Camden loves playing football - by his rules of course. One team is always playing the Lions, and the other team always happens to be beating the Lions. He gives me play by plays and updates me on the score. One time he was having trouble spitting out the score. He giggled and said, I keep forgetting the Lions have zero because I'm so used to counting actual numbers. Oh kid...

I'm just going to write this on down and not try to analyze it.
Kellan: I got up really early to get a drink, but it was still sunny so I had to go back to bed. But I can't go to bed when it's sunny.

I picked up Camden from school and was heading to get Kellan. I had to go pee so badly. I was wriggling and complaining. Finally Camden piped up from the back seat. "Well Mom, you should have told me you had to go to the bathroom. We have bathrooms at my school"...

Camden calls Woodstock from Charlie Brown "Woodstocking". I psychically can't correct him because I find this hilarious.

At Camden's 6 year check up, he weighs in at 32lbs and is 40 inches!

Camden was telling me he has recess before lunch then asked me if I do too. Ha! What's lunch let alone recess?!

Camden fell asleep in the car on the way to the North Pole Experience. When he woke up, he looked around at us and said "Why hello!".

On this same car ride, the car was quiet. Camden exclaimed, "Wow! I can't even believe Kellan's not talking!"

Kellan was being his usual self one day and Camden looked at me and grinned. He said, "I like Kellan".

Camden was itching his foot and said he had a mosquito bite. Then he pondered, "How'd I get a mosquito bite when my shoes have shoes on?!" Laughter erupted from all of us.

Camden coughed slightly so I immediately assumed he was choking. When I looked at him, he said "that wasn't a choke, just a cough". He knows the right things to say.

Kellan told us that when he's a dad, he's going to have a girl named Skeleton and a boy named Pumpkin. I wonder if his kids will be born near Halloween time?

I've really been focusing on Kellan to make sure he's listening and paying attention to when I talk to him. We've had this discussion several times, so when he didn't answer me I got a little frustrated. He looked at me innocently and said, "I couldn't hear you because I was crunching on an apple!". Well played, little blue eyed Cow.

Kellan was cold last morning and asked to turn the heat on so he wouldn't turn into an igloo!

November 8th, 2015

We were grocery shopping, well, just walked in the door and Kellan screamed "HALO'S!!!!!" At the top of his lungs. Since I've been asking the angels and saints to pray for us, I got a little scared for a minute. Then I realized he was talking about the little oranges called 'halo's'. We honestly don't watch that much TV, but he must have seen and memorized the commercial. I went over to the stack and he looked at me earnestly and told me that only kids could eat them, not grownups.

Forward to this morning. Kellan asked me if he could have a 'halo'. I said yes, and while I had my back turned to get his milk (first mistake of the day wasn't until 5:37am. That's a record) - he had grabbed the orange and took a huge bite out of the skin. His face was priceless and of course Camden was the one who had alerted me to what was going on. I made sure to tell Kellan that if he was going to learn from a commercial, to watch the whole thing. 'Halo's' need to have the skin peeled off before eating. Needless to say, we've been giggling about this all day....

Kellan came around the corner with the cutest biggest dimply grin ever. Grammy laughed and said "look at that face!". Kellan looked seriously worried and grabbed and rubbed his face and asked "what's wrong with my face?!"

Kellan got a new puppy book full of stickers. He took it upon himself to cover his face full, and I mean full, of stickers. I found this hilarious and didn't take them off his face when we went into Walmart. We passed a guy that had a big mustache. Kellan pointed at him and laughed at his mustache. I looked at Kellan's sticker face and told him he was in no place to make fun of a guy with a mustache. Luckily the guy found this hilarious and we all stood there laughing.

The boys have had allergies or a little virus for a few days now. I keep feeling their foreheads to see if they're warm. When I was checking Kellan, he barely looked up and nonchalantly asked if there was a "Bieber in him"...

The boys were asking for candy - and pulling out all the tactics to get it. Kellan said, "You should give us chocolate, Mom. That's what helps us grow". Ok Kellan. Hit me in my weak spot. But I must say, it did sound like he was trying to convince himself as well...

Camden James Tilley is a full blown bike rider now! Thanks to Grammy and Granfy and his cool Ninja Turtle helmet!

I asked Kellan to say something funny. He said a few funny things and we all laughed. Then he asked if he could stop now...

Kellan was rocking and deep in thought. I asked him what he was thinking about. He replied, "toast"...

I asked Kellan how school was. He said, "A kid threw a rock at me when I was swinging, but that didn't slow me down!"...

Camden had to go to the bathroom really badly. We were really close to Grammy and Granfy's, so I said, "I'll hurry!" Camden said, "Ok, but don't go over the speed limit". Only him...

I surprised Kellan and picked him up from school early. He was so excited and started giggling. Then he said, "I thought a Christmas Tree was going to pick me up!"

I asked Kellan about who he played with at school. He said, "Mason". Then he wrinkled his nose and said, "But Mason smells like dirt and I'm allergic to dirt"...

November 1st, 2015

The boys were working on a thank you card and asked me how to spell giraffe. I thought and then frantically yelled, "Work on this project on your own, ok!" That's appropriate, right?

Camden asked me to play football with him. I said "one sec". He yelled, "Hurry! The game's about to start! The referee has the ball in his car!"...

In the car, Camden kept shooting ducks. I mean major ducks. Like take this kid to a gastroenterologist ducks. Kellan thought and said, "Why am I not shooting ducks. Weird"...

We were at the park. I looked over and Kellan was on the ground. I asked, "did you trip?". He looked around and said, "I think so"...

Camden was writing a story for his homework. He came up with a funny plot and asked Granfy to guess what it was. Granfy kept guessing Bible Stories. I told Granfy to think outside the box. Camden told Granfy to "think inside a store"...

Kellan, if you know him at all, is a tad obsessed with Monster Trucks. I really want to take him to a Monster Truck show. Kellan knowingly said, but we'll need to wear ear plugs. Then I could see the wheels spinning in that cute big head and he wondered aloud, "but where will we plug them in?!"

I was tucking the boys in, and said "Goodnight". Camden replied, "Goodnight. See you at the party". I smiled a motherly smile, closed the door and got sad that there was another party I wasn't invited to...

In the morning, when a cow licked haired cow woke up, I asked him what he dreamt about. He replied, "I had plants with laser beams dreams". I wouldn't have it any other way.

On our ride to school, Camden loves playing tic-tac-toe with me. Or as this cool kid calls it, 'tic-tag'. The only problem, as you can see, is that I'm driving and Camden wants to play a game that's main strategy requires looking at a game board. I tried to compromise and asked Camden to tell me where he played. But that's part of his winning tools and he thinks it's fun not to tell me. So, needless to say, I put my competitive side aside and just try my best. Why didn't they tell you this was part of motherhood too?

October 31st, 2015

Happy Halloween!

Camden is the red ninja turtle, or Raphael as he's commonly called, and our Kellan chose to be a volcano this year...

We were up in Anthem and passed the carnival. Kellan was obsessed and kept asking if we could go. I tried to make up every excuse of why we couldn't stop. The fair was closing down, it was too crowded, we didn't have any money. I really thought that last one was a perfect excuse, but good 'ole Kellan outsmarted me. He said, "Mom, there are workers at the carnival, right?" I told him yes. He said, "I bet they have money. Why don't we tell them we don't have any money and they'll pay for us to go in!"

While we were up in Anthem, I took the boys by our old house. Kellan couldn't quite grasp the concept of why we couldn't go inside. He asked, "Why? Is it drippy?" (huh?!) Then he tried to make valid arguments as to why we absolutely had to go inside. He said, "I left my garbage truck and all my toys in there". I think I'll wait a few more years to drive the boys by any more of our old houses...

In the car Kellan suddenly yelled, "Hey! I know something!".  Camden Grammy and I waited patiently, but that seemed to be the end of Kellan's announcement...

Camden just loves his school. We all do. Kellan absolutely cannot wait to go next year, but he does understand that he needs to work hard and complete preschool before he can go. He was asking Camden a few questions about Kindergarten. Camden was proudly telling his brother the inside scoop. Then Kellan asked me if there were any 8 year olds in Kindergarten. I explained that usually Kindergartner's are 5 and 6. Some could be 4 too. After thinking about this for a while, I stopped thinking about why Kellan would want to know if it's ok that an 8 year old is still in Kindergarten... No need to worry about things in advance, right?

Camden's school has parents volunteer to help out with lunch duty. I will be helping out in a few days. Camden was a little curious about this. God forbid Mr. Cool -who won't let me kiss him or say I love him when I drop him off  - didn't prepare me for how to behave when I enter his territory. He kept asking me what I was going to wear. I figured jeans or something, but then asked him what the other parents wore. He told me they wore yellow vests. I did know about the yellow safety vests, but now it was bothering me that I wouldn't wear the right attire under said yellow safety vest. While I was envisioning the perfect attire, Camden said, "just please wear clothes, ok, Mom?". Ok Camden, that's a valid request.
