February 28th, 2016

The boys and I are having so much fun this morning, but it's hard for anyone to get a word in. So there's a lot of interrupting going on. I finally told Kellan he really has to pay attention when someone else is talking and not interrupt. I knew he wasn't paying attention to me as I tried to teach him this lesson. I finally looked him in his blue eyes and said "Kellan! Do you understand?!". He saluted me and said "understand!". Maybe he was paying attention but - oh he just interrupted my typing...

We were trying to figure out how to set up the volcano Santa brought the boys for Christmas. Kellan kept begging Grammy to read the instructions. Grammy was. But Kellan kept asking and asking her to read the instructions. Finally Grammy put the instructions down, grabbed Kellan's rubber cheeks, laughed and said, "I am reading the instructions, Kellan!" Kellan looked puzzled and asked "then why aren't your lips moving?" We all laughed. We didn't realize Kellan doesn't know you can read things to yourself...

Camden is such a great reader. Speaking of said volcano kit, he sounded out every word of "Make this Volcano erupt". I just had to help him with the word 'erupt'. Kellan proudly grabbed the box and 'read' "Make this Volcano interrupt!". I'm starting to see a pattern here on the interruption front. See first paragraph of today's blog...

I have mentioned previously that Camden is really good at anything he tries, just not the best at carrying a tune. So when he announced from the back seat of the car that he's a really good 'lip sync-er', I couldn't help but giggle.

Granfy came home with a pizza and Kellan threw a huge fit. We were all stunned by this sudden outburst. So Kellan thoroughly explained to us that he only likes pizza on Mondays. Alrighty then...

We were in the McDonald's drive thru, and Kellan was so excited. He wasn't getting food, but he wanted his window rolled down so he could show the lady he was drinking orange juice. As we waited, Kellan kept practicing how he was going to tell the lady he had orange juice. I don't know why this was so important to him, but hey, I'll support my boys any way I can. This was what I heard from the backseat - "I'm drinking orange juice, wait, I'll say it like this. I'm drinking orange juice. Yeah that's better"...

Camden's learning a lot about Lent at school. He wrote down that he would give up the iPad on Saturdays for Lent. We all looked at Kellan and asked him if he would like to give up the iPad on Saturdays for Lent. He looked up (from the iPad), smiled, said "Nope!" cheerfully and went right back to watching Monster Trucks on the iPad...

While the boys keep proposing we play the quiet game in the car, it's not as dreamy as it may sound. Camden's rules are that he can talk during the quiet game if he happens to think of something he wants to say...

After we left Buffalo Wild Wings I actually saw a light bulb pop up above Camden's head. He looked at me amazed and said, "Mom! The Buffalo Bills were named after Buffalo Wild Wings!" I said, "really?". He replied, still in amazement, "Yes! They both start with Buff!"...
