Monday September 19th, 2022

What a day! Thank you all so much for the prayers.

I know it was a minor procedure, but I was so worked up about Camden going under anesthesia again. Praise God all is good! And, of course, some funny moments came out of this...

When I went back to the recovery room, Camden greeted me with the biggest "Hi Mom!" ever! My heart burst with love. Then he said, "that was SO fun! Can I do it again?!"

We had to stop at Walgreens on the way home to get Advil (dr.'s request) and tomato soup (his request). In I walk holding Camden up as Camden has an ice pack to his mouth. The cashier took one look at us and I could tell, immediately wanted us out of the store. She asked, "what happened to him?" I told her, and said I just needed to get Advil and we'd be on our way. She got the Advil for us, and practically pushed us out. Later I asked Camden if he remembered stopping at Walgreens, and he said, "I remember a mean lady".

When we got home, I was helping Camden walk through our back door. Torrey was waiting right there to greet him. He looked down at Torrey and exclaimed, "A dog! Can I pet her?!" We got further into the house, and he said, "You have an orange cat?!?!" I smiled and told Camden it's his cat too. He just could not believe his luck!

I got Camden all set up snuggly on the couch. He would go from looking around the room quietly to dozing, to exclaiming how big our house is!

This is when I knew he truly was not back to normal yet. I asked Camden if he wanted his pillow, and he said yes, so I went and got his Vikings pillow. As I was coming toward him, I pointed to the Vikings, and asked Camden what this was. He grinned like a little toddler, and yelled, "Purple!". I pointed again to the Vikings guy, and asked, "but who's this?" He grinned from ear to ear and said, "Pillow!". I once more asked, and he was a little less enthusiastic, and said, "guy?"...

I told Camden his brother was worried about him and praying for him. Camden was stunned "I have a brother?!" I said, "yes! His name is Kellan." Camden beamed and said, "That's a really good name!"

Camden had to go to the bathroom, so I walked him to the hallway. We have all the boys school pics hanging up in our hallway. As Camden rounded the corner, he was again, just stunned! "Who are all these people?!" He finally recognized Kellan, but had no idea who he was. He was also thrilled to find out people have middle names.

He had no idea what grade he was in, or what a grade was. When I told him 7th, he yelled, "Wow! That's big!"

Camden is such a brave, strong, good little guy. Praise God!
