During Church, I got really excited for the Our Father, because Camden's known this prayer for quite some time. As we got closer to that part, I kept whispering to Camden that it was coming up. He didn't seem interested at all. Then we sang the Our Father. As soon as the singing started, Camden sang the prayer at the very top of his lungs. Not only that, he was totally off key. I could not stop laughing. He just sang louder and louder. When we were done, the people around us clapped. I'm hoping because he was cute, not clapping because the singing was done...
Of course the boys had to go to the bathroom in the middle of Mass. I'm trying to keep an eye on Camden while he pooped (that kid can go anywhere in public). Camden finally finished and I was lifting him up to the sink to wash his hands. I looked to see where Kellan was, and he was peeking under an occupied stall. I grabbed two boys hand sanitizer and ran out of the bathroom.
I feel Camden's getting old enough to pay attention during Mass rather than play with cars, etc. I kept bending down to tell him - "this is our time to talk to Jesus". After several different attempts, I gave up. Then Camden grabbed my arm, pointed to the Crucifix, tilted his head, stretched his arms out, closed his eyes, and hung his tongue out of his mouth sideways. Is that sacrilegious?
I was talking to a nice lady after Mass. The boys were running around having the time of their lives splashing in puddles. I tried to contain them at first, and realized it wasn't work the effort. Everyone that walked by them smiled. Kellan yelled- Mom! Watch this!" He tried to jump over a puddle and fell forward and smacked his forehead so hard on the sidewalk I heard the bang. Poor kid! I ran over and he only cried for about a minute and then went back to playing. (Camden would have asked me to take him to the ER had he hit his head). Once Kellan was calmed down, Camden ran over to him and said "Aw! Did you hit your big head?" And they both belly laughed.
When we were in the car on the way home, I asked Kellan if he had a headache. Camden piped in with "I do, from getting Kellan dressed this morning"...
I was trying to get the boys ready for school and calmed down. They were everywhere. I threatened everything I could think of- iPads, candy, etc and they just would not settle down. I was very frustrated and Camden looked at Kellan and said "if you want to go to Grammy and Granfy's, Kellan, you have to focus. C'mon bro!"
The homily had a few funny parts and every time the congregation laughed, Camden would laugh super loud about 30 seconds too late.
Camden was watching a really cool educational show on his iPad. I was getting in to it too. They taught all about muscles and how they worked. At the end of the show, Camden looked at me and said his muscles hurt. Wonder where he gets that from?
