February 18th, 2015

Camden's been trying to get Kellan dressed for me in the mornings while I get ready. It takes about and hour and I do yell often, but after the fact it's really cute. As I was fixing my long glorious locks, I heard Camden say to Kellan "you can do it, sweetie". Hilarious!

The down side to this is Kellan's really become dependant on Camden. Camden said to Kellan this morning "Don't ask too much of me Kellan, I'm made as a kid"...

I was talking to Kellan and said "Kellan, you're a funny guy". He replied, "what did I laugh at?"

I was sitting next to Camden on the couch while he watched his iPad. I was doing something very motherly and important, I'm sure- that's why he had iPad time. I noticed he kept moving his arms. I finally looked down to see what he was doing, and he was covering his eyes during the "scary" part of the show he was watching. At first I was alarmed, then I saw he would close his eyes if they showed a cave or a bat. I think the kid will live without being as scarred as I thought.

I woke up in the middle of the night and heard Kellan laughing in his sleep. A little later I woke up and both Camden and Kellan were in my bed. Then Camden heartily laughed in his sleep. Probably 10 minutes later, I woke myself up from laughing in my sleep. I think we're all happy awake and asleep which is a good sign! :)

Monday I was taking the boys to school. Camden kept asking me why I was going this way. I usually take 32nd street down to their school, but thought the expressway would be faster. I was starting to get a little annoyed because he was asking me so many times. So we pulled into school, and I went to get Camden out of the car. He said "Mom, this isn't our school anymore". I forgot that the school that had had the fire was reopened. I went so far out of my way and Camden was trying to tell me the whole time. I sheepishly and red faced drove quietly back north to the correct school. Camden was smart enough to know to keep his mouth shut at that point in time...

When we got home from school, Camden took his shoes off by the door. Kellan, apparently, went on my bed to take them off. I was putting my purse and stuff away when Camden said "Mom, I'm sorry you have to sleep in a sandy bed tonight." I was puzzled then I saw all the wood chips and sand that came out of Kellan's shoes right onto my bed. Kellan's lucky he has those dimples, or I would have driven to the beach, got a bucket of sand, and dumped it in his bed...

Kids sure do know how to make you feel guilty. This morning I repeatedly told Camden not to yell through the house (mansion) for me, but to come talk to me if he needed something. About 38 seconds later he yelled "MOM MOM MOM MOM MOM!" I got so mad and yelled "WHAT?!?!?!" at the top of my lungs. His little tiny voice said "I just wanted to say I love you". Once again, I know now why some animals eat their young...
