Camden just said that he got a bouncy ball out from under the micro-favorite. It was under the stove, so I just kind of went with the flow on that one...
The boys and I were doing arts and crafts. Well, they were. I was trying to at least draw a freakin' circle! I leaned over and said I was going to steal a piece of tape. Both boys gasped in horror and said they were going to call the police. I guess I shouldn't be so literal, or quit teaching them how to do the right thing. I'll decide when the time comes...
Kellan: "I didn't say I'm sorry, Camden. Is that ok?"
Camden: "I'm thinking about it".
Kellan: "I'm thinking about it too"...
Camden took a picture of himself with his iPad and then proceeded to draw a self portrait. When he was done, I was looking at it and asked him why he only had one ear. He pointed to the picture of him on the iPad, and only one ear was showing. (a tad OCD be he). I really hope he doesn't become one of those artists that start cutting off body parts to show symbolism or something...
I told Kellan thank you for being quiet. Seconds later, and I mean about 20 -do you know how long 20 seconds actually is by the way- he exuberantly replied "YOU'RE WELCOME!"...
I asked Camden what he was going to do today. He looked at me stoically and said "I have a lot of decisions to make". I handed him his passport and - come to think if it - I haven't really seen him around today...
Kellan is obsessed with playing "I spy with my little eye..." in the car. Yesterday, he said "I spy with my little eye, something...silver!". We guessed and guessed and couldn't get it right. Finally Kellan gave in (which doesn't take much in this game) and yelled "It's the engine!!!". I didn't realize he could actually see the engine from the car seat in the back...
Camden is such an artist. I told him he takes after Grammy. Then I mused, "Kellan draws like me". Camden replied "of course he does"...
Camden used his fork and knife to cut up a whole plate of pancakes at breakfast. Looks like I'm done being his butler...
Kellan was perplexed with the pickle on his plate. I kept trying to tell him it's just a pickle. He frowned, I mean, kept frowning, and then yelled "IT'S NOT A PICKLE IT'S A LEMON SNICKLE!"
I can't believe Camden is starting kindergarten in a few days. I was talking about this with Grammy and she told me "when Kellan starts school, it will be really hard". Camden interjected "when Kellan starts school, that's a whole 'nother story"... Hand to God, this is verbatim...
At about 5am, Camden got up to go to the bathroom and then came in my bed to lay with me. A few moments later, I had a cow in my bed as well. The bed is plenty big, but not the way a monkey uses up the bed. Camden was snoring away, and Kellan and I were tossing and turning and trying to get comfortable. Kellan got up, I assumed to go to the bathroom, and when a few minutes had passed, I went to see what he was up to. He was fast asleep in his own bed. He had had it with us...
Camden was standing on my bed (knowing he's not supposed to) and watching his iPad. I reached over and pulled down his shorts. He looked at me and said "Really girl? In the middle of the watching?"...
I asked Kellan to come over to me because he had something by his eye. He ran over excitedly and asked "is it a golden fish?!?!" I would love to be inside that kid's head...
The boys were playing on the McDonald's playground. There were a few other kids playing as well. Every single time one of the kids would talk, Kellan would yell "are you talking to my brother?!" Finally the kids just played silently...
While trying to get Camden a belt for school that would hold up his enormous (on him) shorts, we did briefly consider a nice leather dog collar that fit his waist perfectly. No need to call CPS, I said we briefly considered...
Grammy took us to lunch at Chili's and when we were driving her back to work, Kellan was freaking out because he wanted to go back to the 'mallf'. Once we dropped Grammy off, he cheered from the backseat "Go back to Chili's and grab that mallf!"...
